| Over 5000 Union Prisoners died within a week's time at this hellish POW Death Camp. The water source was contaminated with feces, and the men were literally sickened to death by squalor and disease as their captors watched and did nothing. The bodies were piled up in the nearby woods and were buried in mass graves throughout the areas wooded perimeter. The haunted history is long documented at this tragic site. We enjoyed exclusive night-time access to the State Park and adjacent National Military Cemetery. This is a site of many apparition sightings as well as countless other paranormal accounts. Most occur in the field below the Original Camp's walls and the Body-Dump area. |
